The incoming freshman program is designed to prepare players to make an impact at the high school level. The first step is to be prepared for try-outs and how to make an impression with their coach. The Incoming Freshman Program will provide you professional instruction.
This program includes:
Baseball Skills: Players are given repetitions in hitting and defensive work. The workout are designed very similar to a Major League Spring Training. They will also include games with extensive evaluations.
Plyometrics: The importance of speed in baseball is universally recognized. It is the "only" tool that can be used both offensive and defensively.The three important factors that the players will train for are:
A) Inner Core strength, to help increase balance that is very important to fielding, pitching and more importantly hitting.
B) Quickness and Reaction Time, very important to be explosive and quick on the diamond.
C) Running speed, one of the top five tools scouted in the game.
The program directors are Bryan Maloney (Atlanta Braves Scout) and Tim Costic (Florida Marlins Scout).The program is on Tuesday & Thursday from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
